In the summer of 1997, decorative flags were commissioned by this local
partnership for the atrium of their office building. This building contains an
open atrium with a large skylight, a glass elevator, exposed stairwells and
corridors on all three stories overlooking it.
The building was designed by architect Steven Safary and originally contained
similar decorative flags. These custom applique flags were manufactured from
original artist's drawings which were created with the specialties of the
doctors who inhabited the building in mind. As new tenants move in an out of the
building, the streamers next to the flags could be changed as necessary.
